Column Footings Using Wet Set Brackets MCB Ep7

MCB EXTERIOR SOURCES can be found HERE

Financing a post frame home can be a challenge, but there are a few keys to successfully qualifying for a traditional 30 year mortgage. One of them is having what's considered a permanent foundation. Ensuring that the wood posts remain out of the ground is essential when it comes to having a permanent foundation.

In the blistering heat of summer, Paul marked, dug, and poured each footing for the garage and house. There's no room for error when it comes to this step, so the string lines were put back up and measurements were double/triple checked.

We used sonotubes as the concrete forms. Paul cut them into 16" sections to make them go further since they are expensive. They didn't have to be perfectly straight, because you could ensure the brackets are once they're set.

The sturdi-wall wet set brackets were entirely worth the money. We purchased ours through Menards, but there are other suppliers you could find them through.
