One Piece Tub Shower Install On Concrete Slab

Hey everyone, welcome back to the blog! Today, I'm excited to share with you the process of installing a one-piece shower in my downstairs bathroom. Let me tell you, it was a bit of a challenge, especially dealing with the concrete floor, but I managed to get it done, and I'm pretty happy with the results.

So, before I could even think about putting up the walls for the tub, I had to tackle the plumbing. I opted for using schedule 40 drain set, which I find to be more durable than other options. Plus, it gives me peace of mind knowing that it'll last for a long time. After getting the plumbing sorted out, it was time to bring in the shower and get it into position.

Now, maneuvering a one-piece shower by yourself isn't the easiest task, but with a bit of patience and strategic planning, I got it where it needed to be. Once the shower was in place, I marked the feet to ensure they were positioned correctly, and then it was time to hook up the drains.

I like to use rubber couplings with stainless steel clamps for the drains, as they provide a secure connection and make future maintenance much easier. With the drains in place, I moved on to grinding the concrete floor to create a level surface for the shower to sit on. It took some effort, but it was worth it to ensure everything was flush and secure.

Next up was attaching the shower to the floor. I used tamper-proof concrete anchors to keep it firmly in place, making sure to follow proper spacing and alignment. Once the shower was anchored down, I focused on sealing any gaps and ensuring everything was watertight.

Overall, the process was a bit of a puzzle, but I enjoyed the challenge. Now that the shower is installed, I can move on to building the walls and finishing up the rest of the bathroom. It's all coming together, and I can't wait to see the final result!

Stay tuned for more updates on my home renovation journey. I've got some exciting projects in the works, including installing floor joists, building stairs, and more. Thanks for following along, and I'll catch you in the next post!
