Hey everyone,

Today marks the beginning of an exciting journey as I dive into the construction of the interior of my dream home. I'm thrilled to take you along as I navigate through the ups and downs of building from scratch. So, let's kick off this adventure with the first episode of framing for the inside of the house.

As I stood amidst the skeleton of what would soon become my home, I couldn't help but feel a rush of anticipation. The first walls were up, and I was ready to tackle the next steps. With the aid of a lift, I aimed to install the ceiling joists before moving on to more walls.

The process began with securing the outside rows of joists, attaching them to a board along the posts with regular 2x4 hangers. For the inside ones, I opted for undermount hangers, allowing me to hang 2x4s from both sides. With everything set, it was time to load up the lift with supplies and get to work.

As I meticulously placed each joist, the structure began to take shape before my eyes.

The hum of the pneumatic air nailer accompanied my progress, making light work of what would otherwise be a tedious task. By day's end, all the ceiling joists were in place, providing a solid foundation for the floors above.

With the joists secured, I shifted my focus to framing the walls. Starting from a corner, I meticulously measured and marked, ensuring each stud was precisely positioned. I planned the layout meticulously, considering future installations and the structural integrity of the building.

Despite the challenges posed by some overfilled insulation and the presence of pipes, I pressed on, adapting my plans as needed. While some sections went smoothly, others required creative solutions to overcome unforeseen obstacles. Yet, with determination and a willingness to learn, I powered through, confident in the end result.

As the lower level neared completion, I couldn't help but reflect on the lessons learned thus far. Each setback served as an opportunity for growth, shaping my approach to future endeavors. From the benefits of spray foam insulation to the importance of thoughtful window placement, I absorbed valuable insights along the way.

Looking ahead, I'm excited to continue documenting this journey, sharing both the triumphs and challenges with you all. Together, we'll navigate the intricacies of home construction, one step at a time.

Until next time,

Mr Post Frame
